A VPN

You should think about downloading a VPN app for your child and showing them how to use it. The big benefit of a VPN is that it blocks different websites and other applications from siphoning off data connected to your kids. This is going to mainly be used for marketing purposes however it could still be something that you want to keep private. A VPN allows you to ensure that your kids remain anonymous online which is the safest way to be.

Vidmate

Have you heard of Vidmate? This tool will allow you to download videos from a range of different sources online as well as directly from apps. The benefit of a tool like this is that it means you don’t have to worry about your kids needing to use data to watch their favorite videos while they are on the go such as during long car journeys. You also won’t have to worry about tantrums when the internet drops which can be an absolute nightmare. Instead, the videos will always be right there.

Google Docs

Next, it’s worth noting that kids often do complete their homework online these days and share them on a cloud server. If you want to ensure that you can easily check and access their homework, just make sure that you are downloading Google Docs onto their phone. That way, all they need to do is load up a piece of homework and they will immediately be able to show it to you without any delays. The best part is that you can also download this app and that way you can check their work remotely too whenever you need to.

Tracking App

Finally, you could also think about adding a tracking app to their phone. This is useful if you want to ensure that they are always going to be safe when they are out of the house and away from you. For instance, if your child has an iPhone then you can download the Find My Friends app. If you have an iPhone too and their location is switched on then you’ll always be able to keep track of where they are when needs are. This can give you some much-needed peace of mind as a parent.

We hope this helps you understand some of the key apps that could be great for your kid’s phone. The best part is that a lot of the apps that we have mentioned are completely free. So, you won’t have to worry about the cost eating into your budget. Just remember when you download an app on your kid’s phone to turn off microtransactions. You can do this in the main settings of the phone. Otherwise, you could end up being hit with quite the bill.
