Today is the 9th anniversary of my mother’s death. My oldest son was 8, and my youngest only 3. At that time we sat our children down and explained the death of their Mom Mom as well as we could to children so young. I knew then that a topic so heavy such as death could remain with them causing them to worry and to fear. To deal with the emotion we made it clear that we were always there for them in every way.

I was contacted by the creators of the Worry Eaters, quirky plush critters that eat childhood fears and you guessed it, it also eats their worries. This plush would have been perfect to give to my boys when my Mom passed and again when their other grandmother passed last year.
Kids go through so many things, things that maybe we take for granted but for them causes great anxiety. My youngest worries a lot, and gets anxious, Worry Eaters are just the outlet he needs to help relieve some of that stress.

This is how they work. Your little one will write down or draw out their worry and then tuck it into the plush’s zippered mouth. Once they zipper the mouth closed the Worry Eater will hold onto the worry for them so they can relax and get a good night’s sleep. Children as young at 3 can utilize the Worry Eater with Mom and Dad’s help.
Each character boasts round, understanding eyes, soft bodies and a mix of two, three or more ears or horns! Worry Eaters are kind and cuddly in both good and bad times. With Enno’s two pointy ears or Saggo’s five tall striped ears, these pals create opportunities for children to talk to parents or other grownups. Enno, Saggo and six other fellow plush friends offer lots of reassurance to children that someone is always there to help. Worry Eaters, imported and distributed in the U.S. by Haywire Group, exclusive North American distributor of the plush collectibles

I like Bill for our boy. I’ll have to order Betti for my girl. These are cute.
These are adorable. I’d love to win one for my kids.
My question is, what do you do with the worries once the monster has eaten them. Do you take it out and throw it away while your kid is asleep or do you just leave it? I am wondering about them getting anxious or upset again when they find their worry again after opening the Worry Eater’s mouth. Otherwise, I love the idea! Does anyone have any ideas about this?
Personally, I would read the worry and then discuss it with my child to see if it is something we can alleviate – then once they go to sleep, take the worry away. The concept is that the Worry Eater holds onto the “worry” so the child doesn’t have to BUT as a parent, you can choose the way to handle it that suits your child.
Thank you for your response! I think the worry eaters are a great idea!
Ahhhh, they are so cute! I would probably choose the Schnulli.
I’d go with Betti.
Hmmmmm….really tough decision, but think I’d pick Flamm to start out. These are such a great idea ! So cute & huggable !
Really love these. I would have to choose one of the pink ones. 🙂
The psychologist (and the mom) in me really connects to this idea for young, anxious kids. I think they’re more inviting than traditional worry dolls might be. The second I saw Flint, I thought of my son. So cute!
I would like to have this for my granddaughter. We would choose the Polli – Large.
I like Flint!
So many cute ones, I like Flint and Flamm.
I would choose Saggo Large. They are all cute and I would be happy with any of them. This is a neat idea that parents can turn to help there child get rid of worries.
I would love Enno
If I won I would choose Polly – Large.
I’d choose Flamm.
