If you have a chronic illness that comes along with a lot of pain, getting a good night’s sleep can be difficult. I have been dealing with that for a long time, and I have finally found a solution: the Konfein 10″ Graphene Memory Foam Mattress.
I have had gel memory foam mattresses in the past, and I find them to be better than traditional spring mattresses, so I was looking forward to receiving this one. I was also looking forward to the cooling sleep element since I am an extremely hot sleeper and, along with my pain, it can make for some awful sleep, as you can imagine.
Let’s start off with how the mattress arrives. If you’ve never had a bed in a box, you’re in for a treat. The simplicity of it will have you wondering why you haven’t tried one sooner. The bed arrives in a cardboard box. It is rather heavy, so make sure you have someone to help you with it when it arrives.
Once you have the bed where you want it, you can place it down and remove the plastic. It comes with an instruction booklet and handy cutting tool to remove the mattress.
Be careful not to push the cutting device too deep as you could damage the matress. As you cut, you will hear some air escaping as it releases and expands.
Once it’s fully unwrapped, let it sit for 24 to 36 hours to let it fully expand. There might be an odor, this is due to off-gassing and is totally normal. I didn’t detect any type of smell at all but it’s different for everyone.
That’s it, you are ready to try it out and that I did. It is very firm, a little more firmer than I prefer but the perfect amoutn of firmness for my husband. I did love that it has motion isolation which reduces the movement of your partner so you feel less.
I liked the cooling factor, and definitely felt a difference even that first night. I will admit that after sleeping on it for a few days I acclimated to the firmness and felt like it offered great support overall.
I guess the biggest test was needed by our dog Radar who spends a lot of time on our bed and as you can see, he approves!
