So another week of the men taking over on The View started with Tom Bergeron as the moderator and Jay Mohr as the guest co-host. I adore Tom but didn’t really care too much for Jay, not sure why, he just didn’t seem to “fit” in with everyone.
Elisabeth did shock me by actually saying that President Obama golfing on Father’s Day was actually ok and Joy thought he should’nt have been. Weird, I thought for sure it would have been the other way around. I think he had every right to do something for Father’s Day; the man is a “Father” after all.
Jada Pinkett Smith was the guest and talked about her relationship with Will Smith and her son Jaden, she also talked about her show Hawthorne which I have never seen but may have to take a look at.
On Tuesday D.L. Hughley was the moderator and MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts was the guest-host. I had no idea who Thomas Roberts was but he was a good addition to the panel, especially when they talked about the new FDA guidelines that states that any gay man who has sex cannot give blood. He said that as a Gay man, he found it offensive and I agree. What about the millions of heterosexuals that have sex and could possibly have aids and other diseases? Just seems like another slap in the face to the Gay community to me.
I wasn’t looking forward to Elisabeth being in the moderator’s chair for today’s show since I was sure she couldn’t stay in control, but she did surprise me and didn’t get riled up. Melissa Etheridge co-hosted and did an ok job, she seemed a little standoffish but that could be in response to her larger than life co-hosts who always seem to outtalk one another.
David Spade, Virginia Madsen and Macy Gray were all guests. Can’t wait to see David’s new movie Grown Ups, it looks hilarious. I did manage to catch the premiere of Scoundrels this past Sunday and it was pretty good, not sure if it will last though, I seem to have a curse attached to any show I say “I like” getting cancelled, lol.
Thursday’s show will have the return of Bryant Gumbel as moderator, Hal Sparks as co-host and Chris Rock and Larry Seidlin as guests. Friday Sherri moderates, Rachel Harris is the co-host and Jeremy Piven will be the guest.
Have you been watching? Have any favorite moments, or moments you felt the need to “talk back to the TV?”
