How many of you have a family game night? My family makes it a point to set aside time during the week to come together and have family time. Family time to us could be a movie, a playing a board game, or even playing a video game together.
When I was growing up we had tons of board games, and I remember asking my parents for all of the newest games, I absolutely loved playing them. In the past 9 years sales of board games have doubled, so that just goes to show you that families still cherish those family nights together.
As a busy Mom, getting the family all together in one place is a huge challenge, we are all going a million miles an hour in all different directions. I have found that if I bring out the board games, everyone seems to stop what they are doing and they all get excited to play. I love that we are all together and enjoying each others company, as a family.
One of our favorite games to play is Monopoly, we have spent hours upon hours playing, and scheming to win! These days you can get many different Monopoly games, from themed games, to updated play. There is nothing like sitting around a Monopoly board with your family, even if there is a sore loser, lol, we all have one of those, right?
You also don’t have to rely on traditional board games, there are several wonderful family games that can be played using the latest technology. We have a Wii and like to play family games like Operation, Jenga, Bop-it, etc., thanks to Hasbro Game Night. I find that the boys really like playing with Mom and Dad when there is a high-score at stake.
So bring out those board games, and fire up the video games and make tonight a family game night!
