I have three cats, two are super adventurous and one would rather just stay inside. Because we live in a well-traveled area so we make sure that when they do go on an adventure that they do it safely. My middle boy, Cheeto, used to love to climb our trees before we had them taken down. He would climb as high as he could much which would give me the willies. Then he got some fire up under his paws and he wanted to explore more so it was time to harness his sense of adventure with a leash.

So for us, the adventure is the daily walks around our yard. The yard is large enough that there is always something new for them to explore and it gives them the exercise they need. As you can see above, Cheeto loves his daily walks and all the new places he gets to explore. His favorite has to be wherever the birds are at the moment. Just an FYI neither of them like the leash at ALL, they did that while flatten down to the ground thing and even fell over in protest BUT after a few times they got used to it and now they look forward to it, so don’t give up!

Mia, who is our “baby kitty” also likes to explore outside, although she is a bit more reserved since she was abandoned outside and we rescued her.
