One of my favorite memories of Christmas is getting to see what was inside our Christmas stockings. My Mom let us open our presents first, and the stockings were saved until last. I remember small items like chapsticks—the fun scented ones—the Lifesaver book, if you know, you know, the Tootsie Roll bank, another iconic stocking stuffer, and lots of chocolate, candy, and bubble gum.
I have carried on the same tradition of sweets and small gifts with my boys and it made me think about other things that can be stocking stuffers

Traditional Stuffers
Classic Candy Choices
Candy has always been a staple in Christmas stockings. Some of the favorites include:
- Chocolate Coins: We have this tradition with our boys, and who doesn’t love a chocolate coin?
- Candy Canes: We like to try all the different flavors they have today, so this is always an option.
- Bubble Gum: For us it’s nostaligic, so we always throw some into the stocking.
Small Toys
Small toys wrapped are a fun thing to add to stockings, plus it gives you more things to unwrap.
- Action Figures: This is perfect for both children and adult collectors.
- Phone Accessories: Who couldn’t use another charger, set of headphones, or a phone case.
- Crayons or Markers: Makes great gifts for those who are crafty.
- Gift Cards: These are the perfect small gift!
If you want to go outside of the box and add some unique stocking stuffers the following gifts are great ideas.
Personalized and Sentimental Gifts
- Monogrammed Items: Personalize with initials for a unique touch.
- Handmade Gifts: Sometimes just giving someone a gift that you made can mean the world.
- Memorial Gifts: If you are celebrating a loss of a family member, friend, or pet. A memorial ornament, picture frame or figurine will touch their heart.

Practical Items
- Beauty Items: Nail clippers, makeup, and small perfume bottles are all perfect to stuff in a stocking.
- Socks: Easy and can be fun if you give them goofy ones.
- Stationery: Colorful pens and notepads are both practical and enjoyable.

Food Stocking Stuffers
- Baked Goods: Homemade cookies or candies.
- Snacks: Little snack packs are a great gift. Try getting some from another country, and have everyone try a new snack!
- Nuts and Fruit: Fill it with a traditional orange or some mixed nuts.
There are so many great ideas out there. Just keep in mind the ages of the recipents and what they are interested in and you will find something they will love on Christmas morning!
