I was asked to try several varieties of  VERDI Olives, VERDI is a line of authentic, DOP-certified Italian foods that have recently been introduced in the Midwest, and are available at Costco, Woodman’s and Giant Eagle. I was sent 10 oz package of one of each of the five varieties;  Nocellara, Leccino, Castelvetrano, Castelvetrano with Spices, and Bella Di Cerignola. Plus I was given a beautiful serving dish and cutting board.

Now that the weather is getting nicer, we are planning on hosting more outdoor get together’s, as well as going to more.  My husband’s family is Italian, so I thought what better way to share a dish than with a nice antipasto that they would be sure to love.

VERDI Olives are the perfect ingredient too. Each variation comes individually packaged in a 10 ounce package, ready to open and add to your favorite recipe. The antipasto that I normally like to make includes olives, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, Genoa salami and marinated artichoke hearts. It all depends on my mood, sometimes I add more cheeses or more Italian meats. The funny thing, my husband and kids are not fans of most of the items in the antipasto, so I get to splurge and make a little platter all to myself.

I know that a lot of my friends are Olive fans as well,  so I like that I can offer a variety of different flavors to suit everyone’s taste. I am also a huge fan of wine, and VERDI Olives are said to go well with a variety of different wines, will need to test that out soon 🙂 I picture having a few friends over on a cool Spring evening and enjoying some wine and a platter of Olives while on the deck. I just wish my blogging girlfriends lived closer, as this would be a great night of relaxation for all of us 🙂

My favorite olive variety from VERDI are the Castevetrano Olives w/spices since they aren’t too salty and really do have a great buttery taste to them. I could just eat them as snacks. They would also be great on a salad, or in a nice pasta salad.

VERDI Olives can now be found at Costco stores in the Midwest and Texas, and in Giant Eagle in PA, OH and MD. “Like” VERDI Olives on Facebook and utilize the location tool to find them at a location near you.

Disclosure: I received VERDI Olives, a cutting board and serving dish to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and may differ from yours.

  1. well dang it all ! I was hoping you were going to tell us that VERDI Olives needed more testers as I am ready and very willing 😉 I order martini’s just to get the olives and ask for 5 just to be on the safe side that they will last through the drink.

    1. I wish I had them to give away! 🙂 You really love them, don’t you? 5 olives must be a site to see in your Martini 🙂
