About Sartori Cheese

Last month while in Chicago, I attended the MomSelect Swag Suite. Among all the fabulous vendors was Sartori Cheese. I love cheese, and I love trying new cheeses, so I was happy to do a little taste testing. My roomie, Debbie, is from Wisconsin, and she was raving about how good Sartori cheeses were, and she was right. All of the cheese I tried that day was simply amazing!
When I returned home, I still had the thoughts of those cheeses in my head, so I reached out to Sartori to see if we could work together and they were happy to oblige by sending me 5 of their award-winning cheeses to review.

CHAI BELLAVITANO
East meets west in this exotic pairing with the spiciness of Chai and our creamy and sweet BellaVitano.
I was most interested in trying the Chai Bellavitano since it was the most exotic to me. The flavor of this cheese is out of this world. Creamy, with a hint of spice and simply unique.

MERLOT BELLAVITANO
By wedding this rich, creamy cheese to the berry and plum notes of Merlot, we’ve created a marriage of flavors destined to make your taste buds say, “I do.”
I love wine, let me first state that fact, so when I opened up the package and the aroma hit me I was instantly hooked, it smelled like a glorious bouquet of the finest wine. The taste, even better, it was sharp, with hints of fruit from the wine and very creamy. This would be the perfect snack to pair with your favorite Merlot and various berries or grapes.

MONTAMORÉ
Like a new romance, this sweet, creamy and fruity cheese begins with a deliciously inviting appearance and finishes with a playful, tangy bite.
I really enjoyed the tangy flavor of the Montamore, it was not overpowering and had a very creamy texture. I can see using this cheese in a salad or even in a fancy grilled cheese.

ROSEMARY & OLIVE OIL ASIAGO
Heralded as the “dew of the sea,” Rosmarinus officinalis provides the perfect savory high note for this rich, nutty and fruity taste sensation. A gold-medal winner of the 2008 World Championship Cheese Contest, this extraordinary delight wears its laurels as lightly as the perfect balance of hand-rubbed rosemary and Italian olive oil.
I was a little hesitant trying the Rosemary & Olive Oil Asiago, as I always equate rosemary with overpowering a dish. I love it, but want to taste more than the herb. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. It was evident, but did not take over, it was actually quite a nice blend of all of the flavors, making it rich and creamy.

SARVECCHIO PARMESAN
Ask a pear or walnut which cheese they prefer and they’ll say, “One that’s fruity, with hints of lightly roasted caramel, aged to crumbly perfection.” In other words, our finest Parmesan.
Parmesan is my favorite of all, I love it in all of its form, but fresh is definitely best. I would use this in and on everything, it is that delicious. The flavor is almost kind of nutty, but with a sweet finish.
