I don’t know about you, but I have two boys who hate brushing their teeth. I have to remind them every day to brush their teeth and this involves a lot of “awww Mom, I don’t want too” coming at me. It’s tiresome to say the least. I have even gone as far as getting the fancy kids toothpaste, or those fancy and expensive, I might add, toothbrushes that play music but to no avail. Don’t even get me started on them brushing their teeth for the recommended time period, as soon as they get that toothbrush in their mouth they are done, know what I mean?

So in comes the Sonicare For Kids toothbrush to hopefully do its magic *fingers crossed* The first thing I noticed and liked about the Sonicare toothbrush is that it has two age-appropriate brush heads; one is for 4+ and the other is 7+, perfect, one for the 6 year old and the other for the 11 year old. I do have to say that as soon as I ripped open the box the 6 year old was right at my heels and begging to brush his teeth – good sign! The 11 year old,, not so much.

Another neat feature is the interchangeable panels that come with it, there were three colorful patterns that they could pick to place on the front of the toothbrush. There is also a KidPacer feature that will chime when the child should move to another part of the mouth to brush. Nikolas loved that, his face was so funny when it would chime to let him know he was done brushing in that area. Once he was completely done, it turned itself off. Very cool.

The KidTimer slowly extends the time they brush so they can get to the recommended 2 minutes and there are even different power modes, low and high, so you can determine which setting suits your child. The toothbrush also comes with a charger to place the toothbrush on while not in use and two little travel guards to place over the brushes when travelling.

The main purpose of Sonicare for Kids is to get kids to independently brush and is perfect for little ones just starting out, but in my case, also good to get older kids to want to brush as well.

If you are looking to purchase one for yourself, they are now available as of May 3rd at Walmart. You can also find them at Amazon.com and Target stores.
