I am proud to announce that I, along with my dog Mystique, (someone has to help her type) 🙂 are Pedigree Ambassadors! That’s Mystique in the picture above, she is a 4 1/2 year old Husky/Border Collie Mix and the love of our family. We rescued Mysti a few months after my Mother, who lived with us, passed. She was a lifesaver and truly helped all of us in our time of grief.
For the next 6 weeks we will be transitioning Mysti to the new Pedigree food. Pedigree is a brand that I remember growing up with since we always had dogs in the family and always looked at it as a Premium brand. We didn’t start out feeding her Pedigree, so I am excited to see how she takes to it. This is why transitioning is such a good thing, it’s a good idea to introduce any new foods slowly.
It’s been a couple of days, and using the guidelines from Pedigree, we have slowly been introducing the new Pedigree food. The first day she literally scarfed it up and ate all of it, when she normally leaves food in the bowl. I would say this is a good thing for sure. Today was the second day and she again, scarfed it up. So far, so good. I like that the new Pedigree has large chunks, makes me feel like she is getting more nutrition and feels fuller than the little nuggets we were giving her. She’s a large dog, so I know she needs more to keep her healthy.
I will be blogging and assessing the Four Universal Needs:
Skin&Coat (dull and flaky, average, shiny and soft): Mysti’s fur is quite dull, and her skin is dry. I was just saying this to my husband before this opportunity came about. I am hoping that her fur and skin show noticeable changes during this trial.
Oral Care (dirty, average, pearly white): Her teeth are pretty healthy right now, we use Pedigree Good Bites as treats and they really seem to help with tarter and her breath.
Digestion (number of stools per day and quality): Let’s just say my son, whose job it is to clean up the yard, says she “goes enough.” LOL
Immunity (how often does your pup get sick?): She has never been sick, so over all her health has been great *Knocks on wood*.
So join me for the next few weeks for cute photos of Mystique and to read her progress with the New Pedigree food.
