The Empire Hi SP is a sturdy and comfortable work boot providing good stability on almost all surfaces. The memory foam insole offers great comfort and support, even for someone like me with flat feet and a history of problems with shoes and support. They come packaged in a sturdy box and wrapped in tissue.
The treads are nice and deep allowing my feet to stay good and dry throughout my work day, and I spend a lot of time walking across floors covered in water. It will take a good day or two to break them, even then they were comfortable, but once that is done, they get really comfy.
The Empire Hi SP sole works well on most surfaces, concrete, asphalt and stone but, on less porous floors it falls short. If you are working in a restaurant or somewhere with tiled floors where slip resistance is very important, as it is for me in my profession, these are not the boots for you in that situation. 
If you are looking for a good solid boot for everyday use around the house, yard-work or things of that nature, this is a perfect boot. It looks great, it’s very comfortable, even after wearing it for hours on end and it provides outstanding ankle support. All in all, I really like this boot and plan on wearing them for a long time.
