Kissimmee is considered the “Heart of Florida” mainly because it is smack dab in middle of all of the great attractions and located right next door to Orlando, you know, where Disney is 🙂

When I was a baby, my family lived there one summer with my Aunt, although I have no recollection of this time spent there, I do have tons of photos and stories that my parents told me about Kissimmee. My parents loved it so much they even considered moving there.

I remember my Mom saying that is was “picturesque” and how she loved how close the sky seemed, so close you felt you could reach up and grab the stars right out of the sky.  They also loved how close everything was to Kissimmee like the beaches, theme parks and shopping.

My dream vacation is to take the boys to Disney and since Kissimmee is so close to Disney, we would love to stay there. There are tons of well known hotels, motels and resorts you can stay in down there, so the choice is endless. We would most likely try and stay frugal and stay at a less expensive hotel so we could spend more money on activities.

With so much to do outdoors like airboat rides, zip-lining, horseback riding, hiking, birding and biking our vacation would be one full of great activities and wonderful memories.  I’m also pretty positive that my husband would love to visit  The Royal St. Cloud Golf course, this is a given, it’s a Golfer’s dream.  The kids would love the  Kennedy Space Center, Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens and of course  Busch Gardens.

The most important thing to do when planning a dream vacation anywhere is to set up an itinerary of all the things you plan to do. I know us, if we were to go we would plan on visiting Disney first, then fill the rest of the time with outdoor activities, oh, and of course we would spend some time relaxing, it’s a vacation after all!
