The Kaplan Test Drive Program with Mom Central and our family has come to an end but the experience will go on. I can’t believe that it’s been 8 weeks already!
My boys were not happy about starting the program, at first, but after seeing how easy and fun the program was, they were really excited to log in and complete their assignments. The site is so super easy to use that they could both log in and start their tasks without any help. Once they logged in, they were never bored, since all of the lessons were packed with fun dialogue and colorful graphics.
I personally liked how I could track each child’s progress with the Smart Tracking feature. This page shows you exactly how your child is doing and where they need help. I found this so useful in knowing which areas I needed to focus on and where each child was already excelling. This is a tremendous help to us as homeschooling parents.
Another favorite part of the Kaplan Test Drive program was the fact that not only were they learning but they could have fun as well. Kaplan offer a Rewards program where they can earn points for each session they complete. These rewards can be turned in for virtual items as well as real live gifts. I have to say this was a MAJOR part in their willingness to participate and I think is’s a great move on Kaplan’s part, it shows they are tapped into how today’s child operates in this electronic world.
I would definitely recommend Kaplan as a supplement to traditional schooling as well as homeschool. It’s also wonderful for children who may need a bit more help with certain subjects.
