Engines from all over the world are preparing for the biggest race Sodor has ever seen in Thomas & Friends: Race for the Sodor Cup™ now streaming on Netflix. The animated special follows the iconic characters of Thomas, Kana, Percy, Nia and Diesel as they learn how to use their various strengths and weaknesses to work together as a team to achieve their goal in winning the famous Sodor Cup.
During practice for the Sodor Cup, Kenji, one of the favorites to win the race, suddenly breaks down and is forced to withdraw from the competition. As a result, Kana, an electric engine with lightning speed, is paired with Thomas, who’s not as fast, but makes up for it with his courage and determination. As the race draws near, the two trains learn to work together to overcome their conflicts just in time to cross the finish line. Building upon the core values present in Thomas & Friends: The Race for the Sodor Cup, the special teaches kids to work together and that no matter how different we are, we can always help each other to win as a team.
