Family, it’s the one thing that brings us all together, whether the family is the one we were born into, or a family we’ve created from friends that love us just the same. I had the pleasure of screening The Croods: A New Age that will be arriving in theaters on November 25 and I would say that family is the core of this movie once again.

In The Croods: A New Age we find the Crood family searching for a safer place to live and not only do they find the perfect place to call home, they also find the Betterman’s. The Betterman’s live in a walled-off paradise that they created and live a seemingly idyllic life, something the Croods don’t really understand.

The Betterman’s, “Emphasis on the “better” come off in the movie as a very New Age family that thinks, honestly, that they are better than the Croods, more evolved if you will. They don’t take too kindly to the cavemen Croods and would rather them not be there at all. Eventually, tensions flare between the two families, this is of course, until they band together to combat a threat to all of them.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was fun and lighthearted and gave me that feel-good feeling that we all need these days. It’s the perfect family movie to watch this holiday season.
