The Bob’s Burgers Movie is an animated musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running, Emmy® award-winning series. Our Thoughts – I let my 18-year-old review this title since I have never seen one episode of the show.

I am a big Bob’s Burgers fan, so I was already familiar with all of the characters and was looking forward to the movie. I will be honest and say that I wasn’t so sure about the musical aspect but was willing to give it a chance.

The storyline was really good, although it was a bit darker than what you might be used to on the show. However, the humor throughout helped lighten up the dark aspects, and it was on-point and what you would expect from the series. They did focus a lot on Louise, but she’s the best character anyway, so I enjoyed that.

As far as it being a musical, I can honestly say that it was just okay. There was a part in the middle of the movie where a guy was singing and it made me seriously cringe. I mean, they do sing in the show, but this just didn’t feel right to me, it was strange.

I think die-hard fans will like the movie for the storyline, the animation and just the seeing the family, but maybe not the singing. If I had to rate it out of 5 stars, with 5 being the best, I would go for 3.5 stars because it was fun to watch them in their own movie.
