Status Audio’s new Status Pro X Earbuds, released in September of 2025, boast incredible sound reproduction, comfort, ease of use, and a well-designed app. and I only encountered a couple small issues.
Let’s start by saying that I am a huge fan of earbuds, so when I had the chance to review this set, I was eager to see how they compared to my usual pair. I was particularly interested in the sound quality, comfort, and ease of use.
What’s Included
As you can see, the package includes the earbuds housed in a charging case, along with a USB-C charging cable, a quick-start guide, an information card, and an extra set of eartips. These additional eartips ensure a comfortable and secure fit for various ear shapes.
I personally chose the medium-sized tips, and they provided excellent comfort and a reliable seal, but if my wife were to want to use these earbuds, having the small eartips to switch to is a nice option since she can never find any that fit comfortably.
Setup
The initial setup process, as detailed in the start-up guide, is remarkably user-friendly and intuitive, making it a breeze to get everything configured. Once a successful Bluetooth pairing has been established, you’ll find that you’re practically ready to begin enjoying the full functionality of the device. While the official app download is required, the entire process was streamlined and completely met my expectations, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. The earbuds were operational and ready to use immediately after the initial pairing was completed.
The multipoint connectivity feature, which enables simultaneous connections to two different Bluetooth devices, is really awesome. The fact that they stay paired is a huge plus, making switching between devices super smooth. It’s a game-changer for multitasking. The only connectivity issue I experienced was a noticeable lag when connected to the PC, causing videos to appear out of sync.
I will admit that at first, the style of the earbuds made me a bit nervous about how comfy they’d be. But after putting them in, I was surprised at how well they fit and how snug they felt. The only real problem was getting used to the touch area – I kept accidentally hitting it. But after using them for a bit, you get the hang of how they work.
Sound Quality
Let’s talk about sound quality, the thing we want most in our earbuds. I have to give it an A+ if I am honest. I found the quality to be the best I’ve ever had in any earbuds that I have owned. The app makes it easy to customize using the custom 8-band EQ or the multiple presets that are available. They also have Voiceloom AI Speech Enhancement, which does a great job of reducing background noise when using the microphone. As someone who uses their microphone a lot, I was really looking forward to this feature, and it didn’t disappoint. There is also a transparency mode that dims the music playing, allowing you to better hear people around you. Think, loud music at a party (and yes, I will wear my earphones to drown people out lol) and maybe you want to hear what people are saying, this is a great feature for that. The sound quality was crisp and clear, so no issues there at all.
Battery Life
The battery life is around 8 hours, which seems accurate for the most part. I did notice each side of the earbuds had a different percentage, so that was a little odd, but it didn’t seem to be a big deal. Fortunately, they don’t take long to get some power back, maybe 25 minutes for a decent charge, which is a huge plus!
Overall Thoughts
The noise cancellation functionality is undeniably their strongest point; I believe it sets them apart significantly. Furthermore, they are designed with comfort in mind, allowing for prolonged use, and the battery performance is quite nice. At the $299 price point, they are a little steep, but they are certainly a high-quality product and will give you your money’s worth.
