Rufus & CoCo Loves Your Pets, Like You Love Your Pets!

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Rufus & Coco. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

Last year a few things happened that rocked our family. First, we lost our precious Mystique, our 11-year-old fur baby. That was so very difficult and threw us through a loop. After some time had passed, we decided to adopt another dog –

Welcome Radar!

Baby Radar

Radar is a Heeler mix with loads and loads of energy!

Then after having Radar for a few months, we decided that he too needed a friend, so we adopted Zoey.

Zoey is a Beagle mix and can rival Radar in the energy department.

Both Radar and Zoey were young, so it was the perfect way to start them out on a grooming regimen that was healthier for them. Did you know that a lot of people use people shampoo on their pets? This is a big no no since most human grade shampoos can contain ingredients that are much more harmful to pets like sulfates, parabens and fragrance. All of these things can irritate the dog’s skin and possibly cause other health issues down the line.

Enter Rufus & CoCo, a brand named after the two most popular dog names in Australia. Founded in 2008 by animal lovers, Rufus & CoCo offer Australia’s most awarded range of natural, effective grooming & cleaning products. They just recently came Stateside to 1,400+ PetSmarts nationwide with their line of dog grooming products.

They sent over a variety of grooming products to try on both Radar and Zoey. Since Zoey has some dry skin issues, we decided to wash her with the 2 in1 Oatmeal Wash which is a gentle shampoo and conditioner in one and suitable for all pets.

The 2in1 Oatmeal wash is pH balanced and contains:

● Oatmeal extract and aloe vera to soothe dry or irritated skin.
● Hydrolyzed wheat proteins and starches, plus Panthenol to condition and strengthen hair.
● A coconut derived surfactant to gently clean skin and coat and add shine.
● A fresh hypoallergenic unisex fragrance. **Rufus & Coco’s hypoallergenic fresh fragrance is designed to evoke the feeling of the Aussie
backyard. How cool is that?
● 2in1 Oatmeal Wash is concentrated, so a little goes a long way!

I loved watching her get this bath, the shampoo was concentrated enough that we achieved some awesome suds which she seemed to really enjoy! I feel like it felt really nice because she stood pretty still the entire time.

I think Radar also enjoyed her new bath smell. 🙂

Now, here’s the deal with Radar, he HATES water and will run the other way, so we were super happy to see a Water Free Wash product.

Water Free Wash is a powdered dry shampoo that contains non-toxic ingredients formulated to:

● Clean by absorbing natural oils and dirt.
● Neutralise odour in the coat leaving it with a fresh scent.
● Prevent static.
● Add volume and body to the coat.

The product s a powder that you just sprinkle on and then brush into the coat. His is very short, in fact, you can feel a lot more skin on him than hair so I was happy to read the non-toxic ingredients. Keep in mind, dog skin has a different pH level to our skin, so using other products like human shampoo is around 200 times too acidic for a pet’s skin and can be very damaging.

Radar didn’t mind at all getting his grooming done, and we loved the way it left him feeling and smelling. We’ll continue to use the powder on him throughout the Winter but for Zoey, she’s all for the water so bathtime it is!

This line of pet grooming products means so much more to me than just grooming, it means that I can feel secure knowing that I am using products on my dogs that are natural and non-toxic. We want Radar and Zoey to be a part of our family for many years to come and we feel better knowing Rufus & CoCo loves our pets, like we love our pets.

Check out the entire line of product including the 3in1 Pamper Spray, Sea Me Shine 2in1 Wash, and the 2in1 Puppy Wash and don’t forget to check them out at your local PetSmart.
