My son and I watched Resurrection this past season and became addicted to this show. Each week a new “person” returns from the dead to this sleepy little town, and each week you wonder how? He and I have so many theories from aliens to religious but then they all go out the window with the next episode.
The first episode we meet Jacob, a little boy who wakes up in a rice filed in China. An immigration agent named Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps) is assigned this case and eventually takes the boy home to Arcadia, Mississippi. This is where it gets weird, he goes home to his parents, Henry (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille Langston (Frances Fisher)who are now 60 years old because Jacob died 32 years ago!
There is a little convincing to be had, but when they find out that Jacob is in fact there long lost deceased son, it gets interesting. Seriously though, what in the world would you do if this happened to you? I think I might kust freak out a little bit, and Henry does have a hard time coming to terms with it.
Just so you know, these “returns” are not hideous zombies bent on eating humans, they come back as human as they were when they died, give or take a few special traits that haven’t been fully revealed yet.
There are even more returns in season one, and even a few bad guys, one being Sheriff Fred Langston (Matt Craven). He is the brother of Henry and Uncle to Jacob. His wife died while trying to save Jacob.
There are so many twists and turns and a big return at the end of the season. I cannot wait for season two to come out, if it is half as good as season one was, we are in for an awesome ride!
