THIS VALENTINE’S DAY, FALL IN LOVE WITH THE PEANUTS GANG—ALL OVER AGAIN!

I am once again happy to announce that I am a Peanuts Ambassador for another year. My family and I adore Peanuts and the entire gang and are looking forward to sharing our love with you via giveaways, interviews, and so much more.
Charles Schulz created dozens of Valentine’s Day-themed comic strips, and many of those centered around our favorite little boy – Charlie Brown NOT getting any Valentines. Of course, Snoopy gets a ton, and this always made Charlie Brown super depressed.

Peanuts want you to make your own Valentines with treat boxes that you can color. These super cute boxes and crayons can be purchased at Oriental Trading as well as a variety of Peanuts toys, party supplies, and crafts for Valentine’s Day.

Other Peanuts Valentines strips had Charlie Brown waiting with nervous anticipation when he gives a Valentine to his crush, the Little Red-Haired Girl. As we all know, he is always too shy and nervous to approach her.
Did You Know – In real life, the Little Red-Haired Girl was a co-worker of Schulz’ named Donna Johnson Wold. Wold and Schulz eventually became romantically involved and dated for three years, but in 1950 when Schulz proposed to her, she turned him down, saying she was already engaged. Schulz was devastated, but he and Donna remained friends for the rest of his life.

I bet if Charlie Brown sent the Little Red-Haired Girl Snoopy themed PEZ, a card from Hallmark and a plush with Whitman’s chocolates she would be super impressed and go running to Charlie to thank him!!
Did You Know – Most recently, the Little Red-Haired Girl took center stage in the critically acclaimed The Peanuts Movie, which debuted in November 2015. The film marks the first time the character, voiced by Francesca Capaldi of Disney’s “Dog with a Blog,” speaks.

There are other saga’s of unrequited love amongst the Peanuts gang like Sally’s love for her Sweet Babboo. She always gave him a Valentine but he just didn’t want to be bothered.
Did You Know: Sally’s pet name for Linus, “Sweet Babboo,” was inspired by Schulz’ wife, Jeannie Schulz, who called her husband the same thing. Linus apparently feels differently about the pet name than Schulz did—almost every time Sally uses the term of endearment, Linus screams, “I’m not your Sweet Babboo!”

There are two Peanuts primetime TV specials devoted to Valentine’s Day. The first one, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, is the 13th special based upon the popular comic strip. It originally aired on CBS on January 28, 1975 and now airs every year on ABC. The second TV special, A Charlie Brown Valentine, is the 40th special. It was initially broadcast on February 14, 2002 on ABC (where it continues to air now).
Every year, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang can be found on hundreds of different Valentine’s Day gifts, including cards, plush, books, candy and much more and you can enter to win a few of those items.

The Gift Pack Includes: Oriental Trading’s treat box to color, crayons and stickers; Snoopy and Woodstock Pez; Simon and Schuster’s Happy Valentine’s Day, Charlie Brown; A Charlie Brown Valentine from Warner Home Entertainment; Whitman’s chocolates featuring a Snoopy plush; and a Valentine card from Hallmark.
