So I have officially been on Nutrisystem for one week and I have some good news and some bad news. Let’s start with the bad and get it out of the way. My scale I used to record my start weight was acting bonkers and then just out and out died the first day, I guess it was in shock since I hadn’t used it in forever 🙂 So I had to get a new one, it’s all fancy with body weight calculations etc., however, when I weighed in, I was 5 pounds higher than what I thought I was 🙁 Blah BUT what’s done is done and I have to just go from there, right?
I have to say that the hardest thing about week one was choosing what I was going to eat. You have so much to choose from! I liked all of the items I chose and even made a recipe from the Nutrisystem website. I had a mushroom risotto entree which I added some vegetarian meat crumbles and more mushrooms and wrapped the mixture in cabbage leaves and made stuffed cabbage. It was super yummy and I will definitely be making it again and remembering to take a pic!
You see, on the Nutrisystem plan, you do need to add in your Dairy, Fruit, Vegetable and Protein portions. This was easy for me since I had most of the foods already on hand. The only issue I had, were the fruit portions, since I am not a big fan of fruit at all. I did find that apples, grapes and pineapple are a good fit for me but that’s about it 🙂
The Nutrisystem support features are wonderful and I found myself logging on daily to look for recipes and to also log in the food that I ate. I love how it tracks your calories and for me it was a great way to see how much I had eaten and to make better choices for the rest of my meals.
Here are some of my faves this week:
Breakfast
Scrambled Eggs with Vegetables
Lunch
Dinner
Asian Style Beef
Desserts/Snacks
Creamy Fudge Bar
SO NOW THE GOOD NEWS……………DRUM-ROLL PLEASE……….
WEEK 1:
I lost 7 pounds!!!!!!!!!!
(Since I started with the weigh-in last Monday, I will be updating every Monday)
I also took my measurements on day one because I always hear, take your measurements. I think I will make a grand reveal at the end of the program for the results.
So how did I feel on my first week? I felt awesome! Like I said before, I am not a breakfast or lunch eater, I was a dinner and night snacker, so this was a radical change for me and you know what? My body had no issues with the new schedule. The very first day I felt so much better, more energized and never hungry. In fact, I was so full that I felt like I must be cheating, but when I saw the total calories and the weight coming off, it has reset my weird mind issues. I set up my meals to be every 3 to 4 hours and it worked perfectly as you can see by my weight loss!
Week 1 was not only fun and exciting, it was well worth it and I am more than excited to start week 2 – until then, keep following me for my progress on Nutrisystem.
