Last year I turned 41, the big four one, and I have to be honest, it freaked me out a little. Not only am I getting older, my activity level has drastically changed since I started working from home. Let’s just say that it’s pretty non existent.
Turning 41 also had me thinking about my parents, both died young due to health issues. My Dad at 55 and Mom at 63. My Mom suffered with heart issues, so this resonates with me and how I live my life.
I need to make changes, and I have been with my diet and taking supplements but I need to make serious changes in my exercise routine, or at least, develop one 🙂
So I am joining the Quaker Heart Health Challenge to push myself to get moving and in memory of my Mom. The challenge is to do 15 activities within 30 days.
The main thing I want to focus on is walking more. I am very sedentary throughout the day, so my goal is to get outside and walk, even if it’s just walking around my yard, I’m going to do this every day after lunch.
Joining the Quaker Heart Health Challenge is my first step towards becoming a healthier me. Now I’m curious to know, what motivates you to stay healthy?
