As part if the Cinderella premiere event, we learned early on that would take part in a “Glam Ball” hosted by JCPenney. The Glam Ball would include makeup, hair styling and accessories to get us ready for our big night on the red carpet.
At 44, I have never been styled, and for a little o’l blogger from Maryland to have the opportunity to be pampered, was simply a dream. I was ready for my star treatment……
When the day of the event arrived, I had butterflies, but as soon as we walked in and I saw how amazing everything looked and how much JCPenney had in store for us, I was super excited!!!
As soon as we walked in we were introduced to our very own Prince Charming, David, who would be escorting us to the various styling stations. He was very sweet and we enjoyed learning about him and his journey to being a Prince that day. I really thought that this was a fabulous touch by JCPenney to make a girl truly feel like Cinderella!
Our first stop was to the all important refreshment center where we met Walter who made a signature drink for the ball called The Glass Slipper. It was delicious and helped us relax a little bit as we waited to be styled. They also had a buffet of light snacks that I never made it too, but it looked stunning.
David, my Prince Charming ushered me off to makeup where I would meet Tracy. She was so sweet and immediately made me feel at ease. If you have never had your makeup done by a professional it can be a little strange but she and I chatted throughout the entire process and I was happy with the results.
Next I was escorted to the hair styling station where my stylist gave me what she referred to as a Hollywood wave. I don’t normally curl my hair, but it looked full and sassy when she was done.
After getting glam with hair and makeup, we were off to the JCP accessories room where I would have been happy spending the day. So many gorgeous pieces of jewelry and evening bags, it was a girls dream! My stylist chose diamond hoop earrings and a silver bangle after seeing a pic of my royal blue dress.
Then the cherry on top of this entire event….. we were treated to a gift bag from JCPenney containing a gorgeous Cinderella dress for the little Princess in our lives and a JCPenney gift card. Thank you to JCPenney and Chad Darwin for making my dreams come true that day, I had a magical time.
After getting red carpet ready, we headed over to the El Capitan Theatre where we were treated to drinks and light fare while we mingled and looked at some of the costumes and props from Cinderella. We also saw more of the Cinderella merchandise available from JCPenney.
My absolute favorite part were the costumes. They were so stunning and made me even more excited to see the film so I could see them on the big screen. I spoke with Sandy Powell, the Costume Designer, the next day about working on this film and will have an interview on the blog soon.
My fairy-tale day was not over, it had only just begun……. Stay tuned for part two of my Cinderella Red Carpet experience.
Cinderella is theaters March 13, 2015.
