Today I received three products from the VocalPoint InStyler program. You may have seen InStyler products on TV and wondered just how well they work, and I am here to tell you about the TULIP Auto Curler.
I was excited to use the TULIP Auto Curler because I have very long, straight hair which is difficult to curl, well not to curl, rather to hold a curl. I feel like as soon I curl it, my hair goes flat.
Before I got started with the TULIP Auto Curler, I used another product that was sent to me to flatten my hair. The Ionic Styler Pro has a hot brush for smoothing and a ceramic flat iron for straightening. It is light and super easy to use and it really does a great job. My hair is pretty straight, but from wearing it twisted into a bun it was a little wavy so I thought it would be good to see how this one worked, and as you can see, it works great!
Now on to the TULIP Auto Curler. I have to admit that when I first took this guy out of the box I was a little scared about using it, it looks intimidating. I had to figure out the hair placement a few times before I got the hang of it, but once I did there was no stopping me.
Features
- Ergonomic Design
- Safety Guard
- 2-Way Rotation
- 3 Heat Settings
- 3 Timer Settings
- 3 Rotation Settings
- Automatic Shut-Off
- 6′ Professional Swivel Cord
All you do is section off your hair by using the enclosed sectioning petal which will show you the max amount of hair you should put into the tulip. For tighter curls you would use smaller section of hair and vice versa.
The booklet that comes with it has a detailed section of the settings you need to achieve beachy waves, soft loose curls, medium body curls, and tight curls. You then just pull your hair through the front and next to the barrel, then press the button. It pulls your hair taut around the barrel and curls it. You will hear a series of beeps while it’s curling and then once you hear 3 in a row, you can release your hair into a beautiful curl.
The TULIP Auto Curler also contains a direction switch right or left, so you get the curls you want how you want them.
So here is half of my hair done and the back after playing with the iron for a while to get used to it. Seriously once you get the hang of how the hair goes in, you are good to go! I do have some tips, if you put too much hair in the curler it will let you know by not pulling your hair into the barrel. Just release and try it again with a smaller section of hair. If for any reason you get a tangle or your hair gets jammed, which it shouldn’t, slide the power/heat select button to “O”, untangle the hair, then turn the unit back on to reset.
Here are my curls once I was done using the TULIP Auto Curler. The picture on the left shows the tighter curls, which is difficult to do with my hair so I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I am not particularly fond of tight curls, so I did play with my hair to break them up a bit and got the look on the right.

I was also sent the MAX 2-Way Rotating Iron that offers:
- Straight sleek styles, soft curls and beachy waves
- 2-way heated rotating barrel smoothens and polishes as it styles
- Black tourmaline ceramic plate smoothens without crushing, flattening or damaging hair
- Four heat settings up to 425 degrees fahrenheit
- 30 second rapid heat-up and auto safety shut-off.
I have to say that after using all three, for curls I would definitely use the TULIP Auto Curler, it’s my favorite, although all three products are pretty amazing on their own. They are definitely gift worthy for the lady in your life, you can’t go wrong with these.
