My family and I love going to IHOP, we usually go every month.  Since I have an issue with gluten, I like to stick to salads, or eggs and fruit. My boys, all three, hubby included, like the works, so going to IHOP is perfect because all of us can get what we love.

I was asked to try something out on the SIMPLE & FIT menu, which was an easy task for me, I am always watching my diet and have tried several items from this particular menu. I decided to try something I haven’t before, which turned out to be the SIMPLE & FIT Spinach, Mushroom & Tomato Omelette – Loaded with spinach, mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese and diced tomatoes on top.

Doesn’t that look good?  Can you believe that the entire plate above was only 330 calories?  It is,  and most of the 30 plus items on the SIMPLE & FIT menu are under 600 calories. I really loved this, it was so fresh and light. I also didn’t feel like I ate a ton of food and needed a nap afterwards. 🙂

Here are some more tidbits about IHOP’s healthier options:

  • IHOP’s Whole Wheat Waffle with Blueberries item includes one whole wheat waffle topped with lightly sweetened blueberries and powdered sugar and accompanied by a lemon wedge for a squeeze of fresh flavor.  Served with egg substitute and 2 strips of turkey bacon, the entire meal is under 600 calories.
  • IHOP’s Whole Wheat Pancakes with Blueberries includes 2 whole wheat pancakes topped with lightly sweetened blueberries and powdered sugar and accompanied by a lemon wedge for a squeeze of fresh flavor.  Served with egg substitute and 2 strips of turkey bacon, the entire meal is under 600 calories.
  • IHOP is offering 3 new varieties of oatmeal that are made fresh in restaurants every day.  In addition to a new Banana and Brown Sugar Oatmeal, IHOP has introduced its new Super Fruit Oatmeal, which features toasted Quaker Oats lightly sweetened with cinnamon sugar and topped with a blend of 5 dried super fruits – blueberries, dark cherries, cranberries, raisins and golden raisins.  IHOP’s Super Fruit Oatmeal is also available with almonds and walnuts.
  • IHOP’s new SIMPLE & FIT items give guests seeking more healthful options additional choices at breakfast time.
  • IHOP offers better-for-you options for the entire family.  All meals on IHOP’s Just for Kids menu are also under 600 calories.
My boys enjoyed their meals, just look at their faces, one is fixated on his plate and the other is smiling, LOL. We always leave IHOP happy and full and look forward to our monthly visits.
So if you are watching your weight, or just want a healthier option while eating out, take a trip to your local IHOP.

  1. Love IHOP and their new healthier options. IHOP’s scrambled eggs are still the best I’ve tested anywhere, ever!
