I have two cats, Ollie is 7 and very, very picky. He doesn’t eat wet food, and won’t even sniff a can of tuna, so I knew he would be hard to please. Think of him as a old man set in his ways, lol. Then there’s Cheeto, he is almost 2 and loves wet food and will eat dry, but would rather have the wet. Two very different appetites, so I was super curious to see how they would react to the new food.

I received the Hill’s Science Diet Ideal Balance cat food within 3 days of ordering, which was very impressive. As soon as they both heard the crinkle of the bad, they came running. We store their dry in a container, so I started pouring it in and it was like music to their ears. They usually freak out  when I do this, so it wasn’t a new behavior.

I also let them “taste” the food before closing it up and this is where they went nutso! Both of them were trying to get their heads in the container at the same time and were gobbling the food down! Even Mr. Picky Pants, Ollie!

So after giving them both some of the dry in their bowls, I watched in amazement at the both of them chowing down and emptying the bowls, both of them! Ollie has a problem with eating his dry whole, and not chewing it, of course, this leads to him getting sick afterwards.  This time, I watched him chew each and every piece, which is great  because I knew for one, that he enjoyed it, and two, that he wasn’t just scarfing it to scarf it, he really liked it.

I love the fact that the first ingredient in the food is real chicken and no corn or grain. I have been looking closely at the ingredients for a few years now and always look for meat being the first, but to be honest, not a lot of cat food brands have this. It makes me feel better knowing my cats are getting better nutrition.

If you have picky cats, and are looking to change your cats food, definitely check out Hill’s Science Diet Ideal Balance, you may be surprised at your cats reaction to it, I know I was.

You can compare your cat food brand to Hill’s Science Diet by using the comparison tool on hillspet.com/idealbalance and you can also download a free bag rebate to try it for yourself, well, your cat will try it 🙂
