The Holiday’s are in full swing, and that mean plenty of purchases. That also means plenty of opportunities for criminals to steal your information. Having had our credit card information stolen in the past, I am super careful and safeguard all of our personal documents, especially financial statements, and bills.
[color-box]According to Javelin Strategy & Research, there was one incident of ID fraud every three seconds in 2012.[/color-box]
Since the incident, I have been afraid of simply throwing away our financial papers, so much so that I now have a file cabinet FULL of papers that I haven’t thrown away. When I was worked in accounting, our office always had a shredder so we could dispose of the confidential papers of our clients and be sure they were destroyed. I have always wanted to have one in my home for that very reason. Now I do.
The state-of-the-art Fellowes P-12C Cross-Cut Paper Shredder is the perfect shredder to have for your home. The slim design, makes it easy to store in an office on den, and the affordability makes it even easier on your wallet.
The Fellowes P-12C Cross-Cut Paper Shredder Features
⁃ Cross-Cut blades that destroy 12 sheets of paper into approximately 309 particles per sheet, making it extremely difficult to reassemble
⁃ SafeSense® technology which automatically disables the shredder when hands touch the paper opening
⁃ The ability to shred credit cards, paper clips, staples and junk mail for added convenience
⁃ The suggested retail price is $99.97 and can be found at Walmart, Amazon and other fine retailers.
My favorite feature of the P-12C Cross-Cut Paper Shredder is the SafeSense® technology, it makes me feel better knowing that it will disable itself if hands are near the paper opening. I have kids, so this feature assures that there won’t be any accidents or mishaps.
The shredder itself is awesome, a little loud at first, but with all that power to shred up to 12 sheets of paper at once, and even credit cards, paper clips, and staples, you expect to have a bit of noise. I didn’t find it bothersome, I found it really cool watching the power of the machine. I had my boys and my husband help shred some junk mail and an old credit card. We were all giddy watching the machine in action, it was actually fun to do!
Now I feel so much better that my important documents are now safely destroyed.
The other very cool feature is the sliding door on the side of the machine where all the paper goes. You just simply pull it out and dump out the shredded paper OR you can use your shredded papers (be sure it’s just papers and not credit cards or paper clips) for other things like using it as mulch in your flower beds, use as animal bedding for small pets like hamsters or gerbils, or using it as packing material when shipping fragile items.
