Father’s Day – Show Dad How Much You Care!

My Dad

This Father’s Day it is not only important to show your Father or the Father of your children love and admiration for the job that they do but it is also a great way to remind them to get regular check-ups at the Doctors. Taking care of their health is the number one way for them to show us how much they care.

I wish I had reminded my Father to get regular check-ups, at the age of 16 my father suffered a stroke while driving me home from school. He managed to come out of the stroke with some issues with his short term memory but his health seemed to decline after that incident. At the age of 55 he died from a massive heart attack, I was 25 and my world ended.

Show your Father and the Father of your children how much you love them by sending them an ecard to remind them to schedule that check-up today!

You can also do your part by telling the men in your life to visit ahrq.gov/healthymen. The site provides the recommended ages for preventive medical tests, a health care quiz designed to test knowledge of preventive health care, tips for talking with doctors, a glossary of consumer health terms, and links to online resources to find more medical information.

Keep an eye peeled for the new PSA’s encouraging dad’s to take care of their health.
