There is one thing in my home that can make all of us go insane…..a weak WiFi signal! Seriously, it’s not the end of the world when it comes down to more important issues, but it is very frustrating to have the signal go out when you are working on something for a client, on a school project and even just playing a game.
We have all been there, and with a house FULL of internet users, smartphones, laptops, video games and all the technology that depends on it, I need something that I can depend on and can help boost our signal to keep us online and happy.
Netgear’s EX6100 WiFi Range Extender is just the product. Now that it’s Summer, we spend a lot of time outside, but with our current WiFi, it’s hard to support a signal. Our yard is very large, so maintaining a signal all the way to the end of the yard is nearly impossible. Not any more…….
My husband is our tech guru so when we received the Netgear’s EX6100 WiFi Range Extender he set it up. They recommend that before your place it where you are in need it most, sit it near your current router during setup, then you can place it outside, upstairs, downstairs or wherever you need it. Just plug the extender into an electric outlet and wait one minute until the powerLED lights green. Make sure that the mode switch on the extender is set to Extender.
Once the extender is on, look for EX6100_NETGEAR_2GEXT or EX6100_NETGEAR_5GEXT (SSID) WiFi network and connect to it. Open a web browser window from the same computer or mobile device and the browser will automatically take you to NETGEAR genie Smart Setup and from there it will walk you through. It took my husband 10 to 15 minutes to get it fully set up.
We moved the Range Extender outside on our deck since we spend a lot of time out there and really rely on a good signal to be able to enjoy the summer nights with our devices. Once we were all set up, we checked just how good the signal was and maintained a great connection 50 feet out from our house, which is amazing! No more dead zones!
This range extender can also be used on the go, the next time you check into a hotel, go just plug it in to boost the WiFi and never worry about your smartphone, tablet, laptop and any device that requires a signal.
