Big Sky: Deadly Trails EXCLUSIVE FEATURETTE ‘Western Skills’ with Jensen Ackles and Reba McEntire
I’ve been a fan of Big Sky since day one. The storylines are so wild that you just never know which way they will turn and the characters are amazing! This season just started and I am already super invested in the Big Sky: Deadly Trails storyline and of course this new cast.
Joining the cast this year is Jensen Ackles of Supernatural fame, who plays Beau Arlen, the new sheriff in town. Ackles previously starred in the CW’s international sensation “Supernatural,” which recently ended after its 15th season. Ackles has won a People’s Choice Award, a TV Guide Award for Favorite Actor and been nominated for several Teen Choice Awards. Additionally, he is the principal of Chaos Machine, a First Look production company under Warner Bros. which recently announced the pilot pickup for the “Supernatural” prequel series “The Winchesters” on The CW. Ackles is also developing an Untitled DC Project with Greg Berlanti and recently directed an episode of The CW’s “Walker.”
Also new to the cast, this year is the incomparable Reba McEntire of country music fame and television stardom, who plays mysterious Sunny Barnes, the mercurial matriarch of a successful backcountry outfitter with a secret history of missing customers.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Hollywood Bowl member has won 16 ACM Awards, 15 American Music Awards, nine People’s Choice Awards, six CMA Awards, three GRAMMY® Awards, a GMA Dove Award, and was a 2018 Kennedy Center Honors recipient in addition to multiple philanthropic and leadership honors. The Oklahoma native and Golden Globe®-nominated actress has 11 movie credits to her name, a lead role on Broadway in Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun,” and starred in the six-season television sitcom “Reba.”
