Hallmark Gold Crown has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society to help homeless pets find loving homes and has made a donation to help offset adoption fees and help find 2,000 pets loving homes. We are a family four rescued pets, so we know how important it is to help find loving homes for pets in need.
We welcomed Mystique into our lives after a traumatic experience, so she has always held a special place in our hearts. My mother passed away in August of 2006, two days after my son’s 8th birthday. What was a very happy celebration one day became a devastating nightmare 2 days later. My Mother was the person who instilled the love of animals in me. Growing up we always had pets, my sister and I would “rescue” animals from outside and bring them to my Mother. Her caring nature was amazing to watch as she help nurse some back to health and provide a loving home for many others.
We brought Mystique into our lives in November of that same year, she was 2 months old and brought us so much joy after a hard few months. We were looking to add another furry memeber to our home and she just stood out to us. Her gorgeous blue eyes and the fact that my Mother had a love for huskies made it clear to us that she was meant to be ours. She is almost 10 now and she has been so amazing and has gotten us all through some rough patches.
That is what makes dogs so special, they are there for you not matter what and they love unconditionally through the good times and the bad.

We just had to say goodbye to our precious little Lucky, our brave little Jack Russell Terrier. She came to us after running away from her original home after a horrible thunder storm. Her people didn’t want her back, they kept her as an outside dog. She was a great member of our family until old age, arthritis and a number of other failing body parts took their toll on her fighting spirit. I love the idea of this movie so I can think of Lucky’s spirit joining another family or maybe someday coming back to ours. If I don’t win this, I’m going to treat myself to one of the furry friends until another best friend comes my way.
