I was sent two books two books to review;

The Little Red Hen
(Hard Cover w/Story CD Format)

The lazy rooster and the mischievous mouse can’t be bothered to help the little red hen

tend her ear of wheat. They can’t be bothered to help her take it to the miller either,

or bake it into bread. But when her loaf of warm, fragrant bread is ready, the little

red hen is not at all inclined to share it with them. The rooster and the mouse soon

mend their ways! This lively version of the classic tale is given contemporary treatment

with dynamic, textured illustrations which consist of collage hung from wires then

photographed by artist Kate Slater.

The book is vividly narrated by actress Debra Messing in the book with CD format, and was recently featured in a full length article by Publishers Weekly.

I love this book, it’s cute, and the CD format is awesome! Debra Messing does a fabulous job and brings the story to life with her expressive narration. The moral of the story will also appeal to parents, and teachers.

Ruby’s Baby Brother
(Hard Cover Format)

This is the latest story featuring the creative and imaginative little girl, Ruby by author Kathryn White!  Ruby’s mom is having a baby and she’s not very happy about it!  Will she change her mind once he is born?  The real and imagined adventures are shown in colorful double-page illustrations by illustrator Miriam Latimer.  This book has received glowing reviews – including from Kirkus Reviews and School Library Journal.
Fun fact!  In the story, the baby’s name was originally Leo, but while working on the illustrations Miriam Latimer had her own baby boy, Leon – so Kathryn White changed Ruby’s brother’s name to Leon!
How cute, and the perfect book to those who are soon to have a new brother and sister. The illustrations are bright and will definitely catch your little ones eye. Great book!
