The Outsider: The Complete First Season is now on Blu-ray and DVD which includes a Digital Copy (US Only).
If you are like me, you like a good supernatural mystery and that’s exactly what you get with The Outsider series.
Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn)
The series starts with the horrific murder of a child, not for the squeamish, so be aware. The rest of the series isn’t too graphic, at least not in my eyes. Police detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) investigates and zeros in on Terry Maitland (Jason Bateman), a teacher and coach who seemingly killed the boy and didn’t bother to hide his tracks. Then something happens that they can’t quite wrap their heads around, there is proof that Terry was out of town at the time of the murder, and even with matching DNA the tape shows that it just couldn’t be.
That’s when the story picks up. How can a person be in two places at once? They bring in a private investigator named Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo), who I can only explain as being on the spectrum with how she investigates. She explains what she thinks it could be and the series goes on a hunt.
If you are a King fan, then you know where he went with this story, I won’t give it away here because I think you should definitely watch. I do know that this series wraps up, so this is a one and done story and rumors have it that it will be coming back with another Stephen King story, possibly “If it bleeds.”
