The Bad Guys is a new animated film from DreamWorks based on the children’s books of the same name by author Aaron Blabey.

In The Bad Guys, five friends attempt their most challenging con yet—becoming model citizens. These friends are comprised of the dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), short-fused “muscle” Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina).
When we first meet this group they are in the midst of being “bad” and why not, as Mr, Wolf explains, “These are the cards we’ve been dealt so we might as well play them.” And play them they do when they decide to steal the Golden Dolphin at an event hosted by Governor Diane Foxington.
Once everything is in place, they make their move. This is done in a hilarious way by showcasing the crew and what skills they have. We really get to know each one of them, some more than others. During the heist, something happens to Mr. Wolf that will affect him more than he knows.

When the heist goes terribly wrong they get arrested and they are approached about being rehabilitated thus turning into “The Good Guys.” This of course goes all kinds of ways and we learn that not everyone is how they appear on the outside.
That my friends is definitely the theme running throughout this film. Don’t judge a book by its cover and people can change.

The Bad Guys is a really cute movie, the humor is great, including some fart humor that kids will just love. The music is great and will have both kids and adults bopping along to it and the style of animation, a mix of 2D and 3D really makes the characters stand out and is a pleasure to watch! It’s amazing! Definitely give this one a go, it’s super fun!
