Here we are 11 days into January 2015. A brand new year with a brand new outlook on life. Most people take the new year to make resolutions to do better, eat better and be better. I for one do not make resolutions simply because I feel you just need to do it when the mood strikes, not at a certain time, really it’s when you feel you are ready to take on a challenge.
I started back in November with eating better and trying to get more exercise. I had a friend who was getting rid of an exercise machine so I grabbed that up. I already ate pretty healthy, but that doesn’t help anything if you don’t get up and move, so that was my first my baby step.
If you are looking for a challenge to get you going, the website SparkPeople.com in conjunction with Gorton’s has opened up their 30-Day Realistic Resolution Challenge.
SparkPeople.com offers nutrition, health, and fitness tools, support, and resources that are 100% free.
Participants of the 30-Day Realistic Resolution Challenge will receive tips, recipe ideas and daily motivation to support health and nutrition goals. Participate online, or by downloading the SparkPeople app.
I just signed up, will you?
In addition to challenging yourself, Gorton’s would like you to try their Gorton’s Grilled and Simply Bake products. I picked up a few of the Simply Baked products and a few of the Simply Grilled products to try.
Gorton’s Grilled products are flame grilled and perfectly seasoned, and gluten-free! I tried the Salmon and loved it. I enjoyed the flavor, the portion and just how easy it was to make. You just pop it in the oven and in 30 minutes you have a great tasting main dish. You can choose from Salmon, Haddock or Tilapia.
I also picked up the Gorton’s Simply Bake products. Each product is perfectly proportioned inside a cooking bag. All you need to do is place them on a baking sheet and place in the oven, that’s it. I did enjoy the Haddock, it was flavorful, moist and just the right amount for my new way of eating. Just a word of advice, the bag contains a lot of juices inside, so if you go to place it from the bag to your plate be prepared. You could always use the extra sauce to pour over your side dish.
You can print this coupon and try for yourself.
Gorton’s is also running a pretty fabulous sweepstakes – Gorton’s Eat Smarter Sweepstakes where you can enter to win a Grand Prize of 5,000 and daily prizes.
You can also enter my Gorton’s Seafood and SparkPeople #RealisticResolution Giveaway to win an awesome Prize Pack!
