Roasted Cabbage with Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage
- Bacon
- Olive Oil
- Chopped Garlic
- Salt and Pepper
- Parchment paper
- Aluminum Foil
- Baking sheets
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 425.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment and place bacon. (You could also fry the bacon but I find it so much easier in the oven).
- Prepare cabbage by removing the outer leaves and cutting into four wedges.
- Place a wedge of cabbage on a sheet of aluminum and press down on the wedge to open it up a little, this will ensure the olive oil gets inside the wedge.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the wedge, then add salt and pepper to taste.
- Add chopped garlic and fold up aluminium and seal to make a little packet of sorts.
- Place in the oven and cook for 35 minutes. Check on them to make sure they are as crunchy, or soft as you would like them.
- Remove bacon and blot of excess grease, crumble and set aside.
- Once the cabbage is done to your liking, remove and garnish with bacon and serve.
Sounds yummy! I love cabbage but have never made it because I never really knew how to prepare it. This sounds very easy. Thanks for sharing!
So glad you like the recipe – believe me, it is super easy to make. You could also chop up cabbage and stir fry it with a little olive oil. I like to add shredded carrots too, also very easy!
