I love all of the shorts included and couldn’t possibly pick a favorite. I think each and every one has something special and needs to be watched. As with most shorts, they pack a punch in a short amount of time, and all of these pack huge punches, but in a great way. This is a definite buy for the Pixar fan in your life.

Bao

In  “Bao,” an aging Chinese mom suffering from empty nest syndrome gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life as a lively, giggly dumpling boy. Mom excitedly welcomes this new bundle of joy into her life, but Dumpling starts growing up fast, and Mom must come to the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever. This short film from Pixar Animation Studios and director Domee Shi explores the ups and downs of the parent-child relationship through the colorful, rich, and tasty lens of the Chinese immigrant community in Canada.

When a toy stealing bully ruins recess for a playground full of kids, only one thing stands in his way: the “Lost and Found” box.

Piper

In “Sanjay’s Super Team” accomplished artist Sanjay Patel uses his own experience to tell the story of a young, first-generation Indian-American boy whose love for western pop culture comes into conflict with his father’s traditions.

Riley’s First Date?

Riley, now 12, is hanging out with her parents at home when potential trouble comes knocking. Mom’s and Dad’s Emotions find themselves forced to deal with Riley going on her first date.

Party Central
