18 years ago I lost my Dad, and for 18 years I have thought about him on a daily basis. The holidays are a time that I think about him the most, especially while decorating the house and trimming the tree. He loved Christmas, so I definitely feel his presence this time of year.

Like many people, I have special ornaments that have special memories attached to them.  I have a set of fuzzy pipe-cleaner birds from the 50’s that were my Moms and I always remembered that my Dads job was to place them on the tree because they had to go on the higher branches and he was the only one tall enough to do this. Over the years the birds fell apart, but the memories did not. I found more online exactly  like them and have made it my job to place them on the tree every year in his memory.

Hallmark has so many wonderful ornaments that can become those special memories for your family. The keepsake line is just that, a wonderful keepsake for you to pass down through the years. One of the keepsake ornaments that makes me think of my Dad even more than the birds is the new Frankenstein Monster they have this year. It is amazing and is the perfect memory of my Dad.

My Dad loved the classic movie monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman, and he proudly displayed figurines, posters, pictures, etc. of all of those classics all over the basement. He had so much classic horror memorabilia that I just loved looking at them all wide-eyed and curious. I always think about him when I see these characters, so when I saw the Hallmark Keepsake Frankenstein ornament I just had to have it! It makes me smile when I see it and that, to me, means everything.
