MY REVIEW

I was fortunate enough to see the theatrical release in LA back in May before it was in theaters. You can read my review here. I was excited to get the blu-ray copy since there are many Bonus features and behind the scenes goodies, which I love learning about:

  • From Fairy Tale to Feature Film – This 8 minute features the cast and creative team talk about how much the original fairy-tale played a huge a part in the making of this film. Granted, in the original, we barely knew anything about Maleficent, so her childhood and the reasons she became so evil all had to be created from scratch for the most part.
  • Building An Epic Battle –This 6 minute clip features the  battle  between Maleficent and King Henry’s Forces and how it was filmed. This was probably one of the best scenes in the movie for me, I loved everything about it. It left my heart racing!
  • Classic Couture – A quick 1 minute look into Maleficent’s costume. I would have loved for this to have been longer since I am oobsessed with her costume, especially those horns and that red lipstick!
  • Maleficent Revealed – This is a 5 minute piece that is supposed to explore the special effects, a very cool little peak inside.

  • Aurora: Becoming A Beauty – Elle Fanning reveals her lifelong love of Disney’s original animated classic. – I really loved this feature on how Elle feels about the character of Aurora. It is very cool to see how the actor views the film and to hear how much the original story really means to them. When I interviewed her, you could tell that she was super excited to play Aurora, even honored. and that really comes through in this 4 minute bonus feature.
  • Deleted Scenes: “Stefan In King’s Chamber”, “Pixie Idiots”, “Diaval asks about the Curse”, “Pixies Seek Asylum”, “Suitor” – all quick scenes that didn’t make in into the film.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT ALL OF COVERAGE OF MALEFICENT, LIKE THE TIME I MET ANGELINA JOLIE AND SHE TOUCHED MY SCARF 😉
