One of the best times in my life were those Saturday mornings in front of the TV watching cartoons and eating cereal. It was the late 70’s early 80’s, the best time in history for cartoons and for cereal if I am going to be completely honest. Think about it, if you were a kid around that time you lived for your cartoons and your cereal choices.
Me with my sister watching TV.
One of my favorites was Lucky Charms. The sweet oats and the marshmallows were perfection and there was nothing better than pouring a bowl between your sister and yourself and your bowl having more marshmallows. Those tiny, sweet and colorful marshmallows were everything! Even if I had more I always made sure to save them so that my very last bite contained equal amount cereal and marshmallows.
I just loved the marshmallows, not because they tasted so great, and they do, but because they were bright and colorful. Now, even at 46 years old, I still look at those colorful marshmallows and think about when I was a kid and how much those Saturday mornings meant to me. Something as simple as cereal can conjure up the sweetest memories.
Walmart and Lucky Charms knows just how much memories can mean to people and how childhood memory can make you smile years later.
