Visiting Disneyland During The Most Magical Time of the Year!

It’s the Most Magical Time of the Year!

It has always been a dream of mine to visit Disneyland, esp during the holiday season. Thanks to Disney, this dream came true last weekend.

Walking into the park I was as giddy as a little kid, there was so much to see and there were lights and holiday decorations everywhere! The first stop, Cinderella’s Castle. It was more beautiful than I had ever imagined! Just look at how gorgeous it is!

We were appointed special park guides to show us the main attractions as we made our way to the first ride. Since we were here for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi event and global press day, we had to go on the Star Tours – The Adventure Continues ride.

As you enter the ride you see rows of seats, complete with seat belts, situated in front of a large screen. It looks and feels like you are inside of a spaceship. You are then asked to fasten your seatbelts and put on your glasses and ride begins. Droids C-3PO and R2-D2 take you on a first-person trip across the galaxy to safely return a rebel spy to the Rebel Alliance. All the while you are feeling exactly what it would be like to go through hyperspace, fight Imperial AT-ATs, and even free-fall off a cliff. It was crazy fun! Your seat is moving as if you were actually experiencing the ride, so if you get a little woozy with sudden movements or first-person scene, take note.

It was cool to see actual scenes and characters from The Last Jedi. At the end of the ride, C-3PO gives thanks to all of the guests for choosing Star Tours as their space-line of choice and then we are given disembarking instructions.

After the ride we headed over to say a quick hello to Kylo Ren who of course was in rare form mugging for our cameras and being menacing.

Next on our list of attractions to see was the “it’s a small world” Holiday attraction.  I had heard about this ride for years and was excited to finally see it for myself. You experience the ride via boat as it takes you to various countries around the world. Of course, It’s a Small Wolrd is playing throughout as well as Christmas music for the season.

The entire ride is adorned with regional holiday decorations that are simply beautiful. There was just so much to look at that I will need to go back and see it again.

I can’t tell you how excited I was about this next ride, I mean, no words can describe the excitement I had for the Haunted Mansion Holiday! I am a HUGE Nightmare Before Christmas fan and a big fan of spooky and dark things in general so walking up to the mansion I was beside myself, it was so cool! I was giggling I was so excited!

Once inside you get to experience all your favorite Haunted Mansion features plus all your favorite Nightmare Before Christmas characters. You’ll see Jack, Sally, Zero, Oogie Boogie and so many more!

Next, we headed to Disney California Adventure where we headed to Cars Land to check out Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters. At first it looks like this might be a bumper cars sort of ride but it is actually a “dancing” ride.

You pick a car and once you are buckled in the music starts and the roadsters start their synchronized dancing to the music. It’s so fun!

Last on our list was the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! ride. You see scenes from the movie as you plummet at breakneck speeds and then back up again. People in the know told me that is is just like the Tower of Terror that used to be in Disneyland so that gives you a little idea of what to expect. I will be 100% honest, I did not ride the ride simply because I know my own stomach and what it can handle and this is not something I could handle.

We did manage to fit one more rise in during our visit, it was Soarin’ Around the World a simulation ride that takes you all over the world with the perspective as if you were hang gliding. Take about thrilling. It was so cool to “fly” all over the world via this an 80-foot projection dome in front of us. You will experience The Great Pyramids of Egypt, the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbour,  Mount Kilimanjaro and so many more. This was such a fun ride and definitely one you should check out when you visit.

This was such an amazing visit to the part but still just a small taste of the holidays at Disneyland. Be sure to take a look at for all of the current holiday attractions.
